Art Activities

Art is well represented in our village with well over 20 galleries showcasing the best of the best.  Franschhoek is also home to a number of talented South African artists and you are even able to indulge in art classes with professional artists in groups sessions or one-on-one.

Why not book an Art Tour and visit the galleries that most interest you in the village, visit 2 of the local artists at their studios and end off your tour at the beautiful galleries on the wine farms with famous South African art work and a High-tea thrown in.

25 TO 27 October 2019
The 4th annual Art Franschhoek Festival takes place over the weekend of 25 to 27 October.

Over the years Franschhoek has established itself as one of the country’s premier art destinations with its numerous art galleries and resident artists. Art enthusiasts can choose to leisurely browse the galleries situated along the village’s main road, and within comfortable walking distance from each other. Alternatively choose to view the artworks on display at some of the wine farms, which include Grande Provence and La Motte. Garden and art tours at Leeu Estate add an extra touch to your cultural outing. Art Franschhoek celebrates these artists, and allows visitors to experience this unique part of Franschhoek.

Special events take place during the weekend of 25, 26 and 27 October. A detailed programme will be available on the festival website, www.franschhoekart.co.za. Watch the press for more details on what to expect during this time, as well as the remainder of October.
